Join Mortgage Forces at Defence Community Family Appreciation Days

Mortgage Forces is happy to be a bronze sponsor of the fifth annual Defence Community Family Appreciation Days that will take place next weekend at Uplands. The event, which is open to all military personnel, Department of National Defence staff, civilian employees and their families, will boast exciting activities, military displays, demonstrations, prize giveaways and kiosks for everyone to enjoy.

Set on the southeast of the site, the Mortgage Forces display will host Jean-Paul Yovanoff of Flashpoint Photography, who will be photographing and printing out family pictures taken next to our static Light Armoured Vehicle. The photos, which can be taken home, will be processed while participants wait in line for Light Armoured Vehicle rides!

In addition to highlights during the day like booths, entertaining events and a draw prize session at 5 pm inside the main entertainment tent, Saturday will also be marked by a flurry of concerts at night headlined by AMBUSH, who are slated to hit the stage around 9 pm. Other entertainers appearing at Family Appreciation Days include Canadian Forces Central Band Rock Band Rotorhead and bilingual act Hey Wow. Admission to the Saturday evening event is $10 per person.

At 2030 on Saturday, a trip to Italy will be drawn as a door prize to be won by military families in attendance. In fact, military members who purchase a concert ticket and attend the show will be entered free of charge into the draw for the luxurious Italian escape, courtesy of Le Moulin de Provence and Olive & Chili in the Byward Market.

Please remember, ID will be required to enter the Family Appreciation Days site. To ensure the day is safe, all attendees will either need to possess a valid military/ DND identification or be accompanied by someone who does. Valid identification for the event includes CF Identification Card, Civilian Identification Card, Veterans/Former Member Identification Card, Military Family ID or new CFOne card. See you on Saturday!
